Zoran Kazakov was a member of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Macedonia, his home country. He was assistant professor of Trumpet at Kent State University (Ohio, United States) for one year.

In Switzerland, he has played with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, La Sinfonietta de Lausanne, the Berne Orchestra and Swiss Comedy Brass.
